LEGENDS OF MOTORSPORTS AT SEBRING INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (July 19, 2010) - Fresh off the success
of its Canadian debut at Circuit Mont-Tremblant, Legends
of Motorsports, A Bobby Rahal Signature Event, has announced
the run groups and ticket information for its 2010 finale
at Sebring International Raceway in Sebring, Fla., December
3 - 5.
To celebrate the conclusion of its inaugural season, the
historic racing series has added two new categories to the
run groups for Sebring: Sports 2000 and American Thunder.
Popular in the 1970's and 80's as a highly competitive, restricted-rules
racing class, S2000 features rear-drive, open-cockpit, two-seater
sports prototypes, manufactured by the likes of Lola, Swift,
Royale, Van Dieman, Tiga and Shrike among others. American
Thunder pays tribute to the roots of NASCAR, welcoming historic
stock cars, as well as tube-frame Trans-Am, GT and GT-1 cars.
"Sports 2000 has a strong following and colorful history
in US road racing," said 1986 Indianapolis 500 winner
and series co-founder Bobby Rahal. "The Trans-Am, GT
and stock cars that will compose the American Thunder Category
are also a celebrated part of US racing history and are always
fan favorites. The addition of these two categories will
make our finale at Sebring very special."
Additional car categories selected to run at Sebring include
GTP/Group C/World Sports Cars, 2-Liter Sports Cars, Trans-Am/Thunder
and Lightning, Classic Monoposto, IMSA GT/FIA GT, Can-Am/USRRC,
FIA Championship of Makes and Formula Libre.
In addition to three days worth of on-track activity, spectators
will be able to enjoy a variety of entertainment for the
whole family, from live music to classic racing films. With
the rest of the auto racing world in hibernation by December,
the Legends of Motorsports weekend at Sebring is the perfect
opportunity for race fans to get one more fix before the
new year.
