Drag Racing, Drifting, Car Show, RC Drag Racing, Live Music and Yuengling Happy Hour Among the Activities

More than 65 of Florida’s fastest drag racing cars have pre-registered for Saturday’s Battle at the Bridge competition at Sebring International Raceway. With more than six hours of public test and tune sessions scheduled for Friday and Saturday, this year’s event could be the largest gathering of drag racing cars in the history of the Raceway.

Battle at the Bridge will also feature two nights of incredible drifting action sanctioned by US Drift Circuit Florida. High-speed precision driving will be on display Friday from 6-10 p.m., and Saturday starting at 2 p.m. Yuengling Happy Hour will be from 5-7 p.m. featuring $2 16 oz. Yuengling cans.

In addition to drag racing and drifting, Saturday’s activities will include a car show, RC drag racing, live music from Hard Candy (starting at 7 p.m.) and Yuengling Happy Hour from 5-7 p.m. ($2 16 oz. cans). Car show entries are free with paid gate admission. College football fans will be able to keep up with the action in the Taylor Rental Fan Zone.

“We’ve included something for almost everyone who enjoys various forms of motorsports, music, college football and even beer,” said Matt Muha, race director for Sebring drag racing events and the Raceway’s director of maintenance. “This may be the largest gathering of drag racing cars ever at Sebring and US Drift always attracts a full field of amazing drift cars and drivers for Sebring.”

Gates open Friday at 5 p.m. and racing begins at 6 p.m. Friday general admission is $5 and $15 for each participating vehicle. Gates open Saturday at 2 p.m. with public test and tune opening at 3 p.m. Battle at the Bridget first-round qualifying is scheduled for 6 p.m. and knockout rounds are scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. General admission is $10 per person, and kids 12 and under are $5. Test and tune entries are $10.

Bull Gator Plumbing, Taylor Rental, Racetrack Rentals at Sebring, Triangle Hardware, White’s Transmissions, Signtastic and Air & Electrical Services have made $9,850 in prize money available for drag racing competitors. In addition, beginning with this weekend’s event, at the end of each competition the Raceway will pay out a $1,000 bounty to the competitor who breaks and holds the one-eighth-mile track record – currently 5.03 seconds and held by John Platt Jr.
