Will Experience Play a Role At Sebring?

The roles will be reversed for competitors in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship at the upcoming Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh From Florida.

After the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona played to the strengths of the former Rolex Series teams, American Le Mans Series teams will be returning to familiar turf at Sebring.

Muscle Milk Pickett Racing won the 2012 and 2013 P1 championships in the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón. While the Rolex 24 was the team’s first experience on Daytona’s high banks with a new Nissan-powered ORECA, Muscle Milk Pickett Racing has plenty of experience racing at Sebring’s flat layout that incorporates runways from a former military training base.

Entries Filing In for Sebring Testing

IMSA returns to action at Sebring International Raceway on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 20-21, with two full days of testing for both the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship and Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge.

The testing will be in preparation for the next event on the IMSA calendar, the 62nd Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh From Florida on Saturday, March 15. The weekend includes the second round of the Continental Tire Challenge on Friday, along with the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama, Cooper Tires Prototype Lites Powered by Mazda, and Lamborghini Super Trofeo.

Porsche North America Takes Lead In Tequila Patrón NAEC

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 26, 2014) – Porsche North America leads the GT Le Mans (GTLM) team points counting for the Tequila Patrón North American Endurance Cup after 18 hours in the Rolex 24 At Daytona.

With points awarded at six-hour increments, Porsche has accumulated 12 points, followed by Corvette Racing with 10, SRT Motorsports with nine and BMW with seven.

SRT Motorsports lead the GTLM class after six hours and Porsche North America lead the second segment after 12 hours.
